Audition Music

The audition music is currently posted at www.charmsmusic.com. To access the material, you need to do the following:

  • Type seguinhsb in the Parent/Student Log In.
  • Click on the handouts button.
  • Click on the 2009 Band Audition Materials.

Once there, download a total of 4 files including the General Audition Guidelines, Specific Instrument Etudes, and Specific Instrument Scale Sheets (which consist of two separate files).

Booster Help

New Band Booster Officer information for the 2009 - 2010 school year will be posted soon.

Chaperones will also be needed for next year's marching season, as well as for the yearly Spring Trip. If interested in chaperoning, click here to look at a chaperone's duties and contact the Chaperone Coordinator.

Matador News

Winter Guard Sweeps Multiple Competitions

The Seguin High Winter Guard did an amazing job on their contest routine this year. The guard participated in 5 contests and with 4 first place ratings and 4th place at State. We are very proud of their accomplishments.

Solo & Ensemble

Congratulations to those who performed at Solo & Ensemble. Many Seguin High School students made 1's on their pieces and are now eligible for State Solo & Ensemble. More information on this event will be posted at a later time.

All Area Auditions

The All Area Auditions were held on January 10th at Judson. Seguin had 3 students compete for spots in the All State Band. Senior Noel Arce made First Chair All Area Band and is scheduled to be a part of this prestigious group. Noel is the 20th student in Seguin High School history to make any All State group and specifically, the 2nd Seguin Band member to make it to All State Band. Congradulations Noel!

Marching Season

This past marching year was a great success. The Matador Band took home took home many awards, honors and also kept their Judson Rocket Review Grand Champion title. The Matador Marching Band recieved awards from:

  • USSBA Regionals - 3rd place 4A, Best Percussion, & Best Visual
  • Judson Rocket Review - 1st Place 4A, Grand Champions, Best Percussion, Best Color Guard, & Best Visual
  • UIL Contest - Division 1 Rating
  • USSBA State Championships - 2nd Place 4A & Best Percussion
  • Our percussion also did very well at the Drumline contest in Dallas.
